Friends,

On Holy Saturday, for the first-ever OLMM Stations of the Cross prayer walk through the streets of Wyandanch, I had the opportunity to introduce Suffolk County Police Sergeant Matthew Colao to Father John.

Sergeant Colao shared that he would lead the procession and the eight sector cars would block traffic as hundreds of adults and children walked through the streets of Wyandanch in prayer. Many in this community—even those who are documented—often feel uneasy going to places like the grocery store or Walmart for fear of being detained. Yet on this day, they felt safe, supported, and joyful praying openly in public.

All of the police officers were professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout the event. The parishioners were deeply appreciative.

A special thank you to PO Dara, who helped organize the event even while on vacation in Florida.

It was also good to see that nearly all of the altar boys and girls are participants in our Soccer Clinic, which begins today at 6:00 PM at Wyandanch Park. Deputy Supervisor, Councilman Tony Matrinez, and Philip A. Berdolt Deputy Commissioner, DPW have the field in perfect condition for tonight! We will have over 100 plus community children registered.

The Summer Camp golf outing is coming along nicely—we only have a few foursomes remaining and expect to close out within the next few days.

Please consider sponsoring a hole at the golf outing, which is the equivalent of sponsoring a child for summer camp. https://www.eventregisterpro.com/grocannualgolfouting

Looks like good weather for tonight!

Joe
