All is good at the Outreach Center at this time.  We are extremely busy with our food and clothing pantry as we have never seen such a great need for basic food and clothing.  Although a limit was established for the maximum number of daily clients, this was never enforced until last month. We were forced to close early on a few days due to the sheer number of people coming for food.   It is comforting that people know that they can come to us for help although it’s tough keeping our shelves fully stocked. We are also seeing more children coming to the Outreach without winter coats and hats, but since we have been receiving new children’s coats, they are able to leave warm.

We are thankful for all the food and clothing donations we have been receiving, this really helps.

Current Needs:

We are looking for volunteers to help with:

  • interviewing incoming clients
  • food distribution
  • clothing pantry,
  • basic manual labor offloading incoming food donations and re-stocking shelves

The clothing pantry needs new cotton underwear for male and female, all sizes; this is the only clothing item which is not distributed as “gently used”!

We have started collecting First Communion dresses and boys suits for the children at OLMM Church as well as Prom Dresses for the Wyandanch High School and Middle School.

The spring PAL/1st Precinct/Outreach Center Soccer Clinic is coming up!  This is always a fun 10-week clinic ending with a BBQ at the Outreach Center, where all participants receive a medal.

We are starting to organize our annual Golf Outing fundraiser, scheduled for Monday, May 20th, so mark your calendars! More to follow.

We are very busy, but all good, thank you for your continued support!
