Friends,
This year, over 400 children have registered to receive toys; each child gets three new, age and gender appropriate toys this year (1,200 toys). Needless to say, the Outreach is humming with activity as we bag the toys and call each family; the adults come and discreetly pick up the toys so they can be wrapped in time for Christmas (we provide wrapping paper). Our Christmas food distribution is scheduled for Monday, December 18th.
Please see the attached for the Hearing Loss Program, scheduled for this Sunday, December 17th at the Outreach Center. In partnership with NYU Langone Health and Suffolk County Dept of Health Services, Office of Minority Health, we are offering hearing screening for disadvantaged children; several of the Outreach staff were trained in the summer to conduct these tests. This is a nice service to offer to our community.
Polar Bear swim: January 1st, at 12:00 noon at Jones Beach, our 23th year! Join us if you want to start the year off a little crazy!
