The 1st Precinct/Suffolk County PAL/Outreach Center Soccer Clinic was launched five years ago and has proven to be both popular and successful. So far, we have maxed out the 100-player enrollment every year; this has also turned out to be an outdoor family event as the parents come to watch the children go through skill development drills and then play matches within their age group. I am looking forward to this very positive community event; the police are great and enjoy the interaction with both the children and parents.

Some of the registered children do not own sneakers, let alone cleats, so if you have any gently used sneakers or cleats please let me know and I will come pick them up. Each child gets a new PAL Soccer tee shirt. Last year (every year), there were a few children who wore winter boots and flip-flops on the first day, which was the only footwear they owned. Fortunately, we had a supply of sneakers and gym shorts so they were properly outfitted for the clinic. This is who we serve, a child without sneakers.

On the last day of soccer (June 13th this year), we have a BBQ at the Outreach Center for the players and their families and where each child also receives an award! They are very proud of their PAL medals.

We need a few more adult coaches. If anyone would like to volunteer to coach or assist, please contact me; no experience necessary except for a loving heart and some patience. The clinic will be held on all Mondays in April and May from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyandanch Park.

Attached is the schedule; this is a worthy, fun, and rewarding event.
